(More customer reviews)Before you pull the trigger and order this made for TV product, you might want to do a side by side comparison with the Supentown products.Like Flavorwave, Supentoown has a base model with mechanical controls Sunpentown SO-2000 Super Turbo Multi-Function Round-Shaped 12-Liter Convection Oven and an "upgrade" model with digital controls Sunpentown SO-2002 Digital Convection Oven with Nano-Carbon and FIR Heating Element .Do you notice anything ?Twins separated at birth ?Two brands rolling off of the same production line ?Pretty similar, aren't they ?Without taking both of them apart and doing a component by component comparison, it isn't really possible to say beyond all doubt, but one thing is for sure; both brands offer the same functionality, and the Supentown costs half as much.Of course, if you like the idea of having the same oven that Mr. T uses, you'll probably be willing to spend all that extra money. And I'm sure the handy recipe book is well worth paying twice as much to get.Of course, Mr. T. is known for breaking things, not cooking them. And Amazon lists plenty of modestly priced books on convection cooking. And, there are lots of convection recipes on the Internet. But hey, you saw this one on TV at 3:00 a.m. , and they dropped the price from 4 easy payments of 39.95 to only 3 payments.Never mind that you can get the (nearly identical) Supentown here on Amazon for well less than 2 of those easy payments. In fact, you can get the digital "upgrade model" for 2 of those easy payments. Is the Supentown just as good as the Flavorwave ?Since I suspect they are the same product, with only small cosmetic changes for the purpose of "branding", I am tempted to say yes.But I will be glad to do a detailed teardown comparison if anyone wants to sacrifice their working or non-working Flavorwave and/or Supentown to science, and then we will have a definitive conclusion. But, even if they aren't built on the same line by the same factory, you would find it difficult to persuade me that the Flavorwave is twice as good.Sorry, Mr. T, but I pity the fool who pays too much.
